Asbestos is believed to be in over 3,000 different products and was used extensively as a building material in Great Britain from the 1950s through to the mid 1980s, with a total ban in 1999. Although some of this material has been removed over the years, it is estimated that over half a million non-domestic premises currently have some form of asbestos in them. Contrary to popular belief, asbestos containing materials (ACM's) do not always need to be removed. ACM's that are in good condition and are not likely to be damaged or disturbed are sometimes best left in place and managed. Their condition is easily established by carrying out a risk assessment that can be included within an Asbestos Register. This creates a far shorter time frame compared with conventional systems. What are the thermal heat absorption and retention properties within a Prime LE SIP structure? When evaluating the insulating performance of a wall system, several factors should be considered. Most common among these is R-value. R-value is a measurement of the ability of different materials to resist conductive heat transfer (movement of heat through solid material). The higher the R-value of an insulating material, the better it is able to resist heat loss or gain.
